Portrait of a small French town's outlying neighbourhood between 1989 and 2001, through the reunion of two sisters, each accompanied by a guiding figure who appears when reality hits her.
Chacune est accompagnée par une figure tutélaire qui apparaît au moment où le réel la percute. Majda, l’aînée qui reste dans le quartier jusqu’à sa mort, est accompagnée par Rabia Al Adawiya, poétesse irakienne et grande mystique soufie du 8ème siècle. Etel Adnan, poétesse et peintre lesbienne née à Beyrouth en 1925 apparaît à Rim, la petite sœur, alors qu’elle vit ses premiers émois amoureux.
